Dear Ilene,
HPSL == High Performance Storage List
It will later contain the IO500 statistics similar to many other metrics.
https://www.vi4io.org/hpsl/start
Cost-related stuff: at the moment one can enter:
* annual_tco
This is the fraction of the TCO per year (so divided by life time)
= System purchase cost + expected energy costs (this year) + roughly
building costs (this year) + staff cost + ...
The TCO I mean is split into values easier to obtain :
* annual_procurement_costs
Cost of the system divided by life time
* annual_facility_update_costs
Costs to modernize the data center to accompany the system divided by life time
* energy_consumption
We can continue the discussion of costs on another thread.
It is still subject to identify what vendors and sites are happy to
provide but it shall be supported.
Basically, I wanted that one can understand the costs for
supercomputer, storage to compare performance / $ and also how much a
similar system costs. Remember all those characteristics are optional
to enter.
Basically, my goal is to make the HPSL the comprehensive data base for
all somehow relevant characteristics for storage, supercomputer and
site. Maybe it becomes the "High Performance Computing List", or
something.
Well, dreaming ^-^
