Dear all,
This is a final reminder for the 2020 ESiWACE2 online training course on Domain-specific
Languages in Weather and Climate. The course will be a week long virtual event held in the
week starting the 23rd of November 2020.
The diversity and rapid change of the many supercomputing architectures used to run
weather and climate codes and of the programming models required seriously affects the
development productivity and the ability to retain a single source code running
efficiently everywhere. Domain-specific languages (DSLs) provide a solution to the
productivity and portability of these codes. This training course provides insights into
the DSLs considered in ESiWACE2 (PSyclone, and the Dawn DSL ecosystem) and demonstrates
how to apply them to weather and climate models.
Registration is open until the 30th October **the end of today**. If you would like to
attend the training course, please fill out the following registration form:

Additional information about the training event is available at:

The course is organised in the context of the “Centre of Excellence in Simulation of
Weather and Climate in Europe, Phase 2” (ESiWACE2). The ESiWACE2 project has received
funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under
grant agreement No. 823988.
Please feel free to circulate this invitation to anyone who might be interested in
attending this training course.
Best regards,
The DSLs in Weather and Climate training course organisers

Spickermann (DKRZ)
