Summer School Attendance Information

this is updated and information regarding the summer school next week.
== Video Conference ==
We are using Blackboard Ultra for the summer school.
It relies only on Browser-technology, thus, it should work on modern browsers.

=== Testing ===
It is a good idea to test that your connection works, therefore, you
can join any time the test room here:

To interact during the summer school, we will primarily use the chat
(session chairs will check the questions there) but also allow oral
asked questions.
For the chat can click on the bottom right on the "pink" << sign, the
chat window is the leftmost icon, type a message to see that it works.
If you like to interact, you may want to check that your Mic/Video works.
Note: You may need to grant the webpage permissions to use your Mic.
If you have any problem, I recommend using the Google Chrome browser
to access the page.
The best test can be achieved by joining the session twice, then
unmuting in one of the sessions, and see if the voice (or chat) is
transmitted.
Depending on your Internet connection to the UK, the experience may be
suboptimal.
To see the communication bandwidth, you can click on the bottom right
on the "pink" << sign, then click on "participants", find your name,
and hover over the "bar" on the right to get some feedback about your
upload/download speeds to the service.
== Lab sessions ==
The VM has been updated to include software for the Extreme-Scale
Computation session.
For the High-Performance Data Analytics and Visualisation session, an
additional VM is provided and documented in the shared document:

Please setup the VM(s) if you plan to attend the respective sessions.
I apologize that the VM is not working successfully on *all* computer
systems but it depends on many facets. Please check the document if
you have any issues. It seems to be important to use a recent
VirtualBox Version (e.g., 6.1).
